Hugo Minnaar's Expo

Hugo Minnaar, manager of Zeallous Racing, recently participated in the regional round of the Eskom Expo for Young Scientist.  His Expo was about the engineering crisis in South Africa.  It is a fact that there is way to few engineers in South Africa.

Research was done in his school to determine what children wants to go study or if they want to study at all. After extensive research and many interviews it was determined that F1 in Schools gives learners the necessary interest and skills to study engineering. Zeallous Racing was introduced as a possible solution to help upcoming F1 in Schools teams and to get more teams involved.

The hypothesis was:
Engineering related competitions
that simulate real life situations (like F1 in Schools)
rouses, with the necessary guidance,
learners’ interest in engineering.

The hypothesis was proved right. Hugo Minnaar won a silver medal for his expo. He also won a cash prize for Best research project that addresses a teaching or learning issue from the Faculty of Education, Stellenbosch University.

Congratulations Hugo, we are proud of you. Thank you for proving the necessity of Zeallous Racing.
